FWO Inspectors to visit businesses in Sydney

Visits will be made to the following locations:

  • approximately 50businesses across The Rocks andMillers Point;

  • approximately 30 businesses across Palm Beach and Whale Beach.

During the visits, the inspectors will be distributing information packs to employers which will include fact sheets, templates and best practice guides for employers in the national system.

Fair Work Ombudsman Nicholas Wilson says the informal visits are aimed at assisting employers to understand national workplace laws, including the National Employment Standards and Modern Awards.

The AHA (NSW) encourages all members to cooperate with the FWO Inspectors in the event that your hotel is one of the businesses visited. Members should be aware of what modern award applies to their staff and what the correct classifications and rates of pay are.
