Responsible Service of Alcohol SITHFAB009A

The Responsible Service of Alcohol program is a response from the introduction of the Harm Minimisation Legislation introduced in October 1996 by the Department of Gaming and Racing.

The Australian Hotels Association (NSW) conducts an RSA course, which has been accredited by the Vocational Education & Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) and approved originally by the Liquor Administration Board (LAB) and now developed and approved by the Casino Liquor and Gaming Control Authority.

Who Should Attend?

This course is compulsory for all staff involved in the sale, supply or promotion of alcohol. It is vital that they understand the requirements of the Acts in detail in order to protect themselves and their employers from civil and criminal liability.

Course Information

The RSA course is a competency based, 6-hour program with an interim certificate awarded to graduates. This interim certificate is required to be presented at an Australia Post outlet for the purposes of obtaining the photo competency card. Participants also receive a handbook for future reference.

  • Identifying the context of Responsible Service of Alcohol
